Local #706 Training Series
Make-Up Artist Training Series
Effective August 1, 2000, any rostered Make-Up Artist Trainee wishing to upgrade to the classification of Journeyperson on the Local #706 Industry Experience Roster is required to complete the Make-Up Artist Training Series offered by Contract Services, in addition to satisfying the time and work experience requirements set forth in Paragraph 68(a)(2) of the Local #706 Agreement. The purpose of this rigorous training series is to provide a detailed study of proper technique relevant to the craft and to outline the essential qualities of being a Make-Up Artist Journeyperson in the motion picture and television industry. All classes will be instructed by professionals experienced in the craft.
The Make-Up Artist Training Series consists of eight classes, each being six hours long (for a total of 48 hours of instruction). Classes will be held on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (dates to be determined). Classes will include both demonstration by instructors and practical application by trainees. Therefore, attendees will be required to supply materials and models at their own expense.
The cost for this Training Series is a $200 registration fee ($25 per class) which will be refunded upon successful completion of all classes. However, should you miss a class(es) without advance notice to Contract Services, $25 will be deducted from your reimbursement for each missed class. In the event of an absence, you will be required to make up the class the next time it or its equivalent is offered. Please make the check payable to Contract Services. Cash will not be accepted.
Please be aware that you will not be able to upgrade to Journeyperson on the Industry Experience Roster until you have completed the Make-Up Artist Training Series in its entirety.
Reminder: Since seating is limited, applications will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. Upon receipt of your completed registration form and fee, Contract Services will send you a letter confirming your reservation.

The purpose of this rigorous training series is to provide a detailed study of proper technique relevant to the craft and to outline the essential qualities of being a Hair Stylist Journeyperson in the motion picture and television industry.
